I am in the comfort of my bed as I write this post. Savouring every minute of downtime and mornings without alarm clocks, is a must.

I haven't posted anything new since just after my 19th birthday.

Hello, World, (and I almost mean that in a literal sence, because with Vancouver hosting the Olympics culture is everywhere).

The sun is such a beautiful thing, it's rays seeping through my blinds make my mornings. Thinking about what I"m giong to wear today also make my mornings: one peice gray jumper with black floral stockings and boots, Betsey shades and a black over-sized hand bag.

The sun reminds me of summer, which then reminds me of summer styles. Light blue ripped denim in a boot cut, with Michael Kors sandals. a light airy v-neck tee by Alternative Apparel, messy hair and sunglasses is my go-to look as soon as temperatures reach a high of 20 C.

I scored a copy of Jeanne Unbottled for four dollars this afternoon (amazing, right? it's retail price at Chapters is 29.90 ... so you can tell why I'm pretty stoked). I got to about page ten by the time I got home from my sisters. It is everything I've been wanting to read, specifically about fashion journalism. How a small town girl who grew up playing dress-up with a knock-off Barbie doll, and is now the founder and voice of Fashion Television is mind boggling, but nontheless inspirational.

In the first chapter she touches on the subject of clothes. It seemed ironic to me when she states that clothes shouldn't be a mirror of who you are rather it simply being what you wear. This made me think a little. It opened up a door I guess I passed through my hallway of life. I use to agonize about what to wear in the morning, my wardrobe for the day has actually been a reason for a late slip. Thus, why planning the night before can give you extra time to grab that morning coffee. However, Beker finds that a true fashionista is one that can elegently put together an outfit, effortlessly. I am learning Jeanne, I swear.

So thats my tangent on that.

My sister gave me a gray one piece jumper today from Urban Outfitters. It is so comfy, so light, yet so beautiful. Necklace, or no necklace, leggings or boots. Whatever, throw a leather jacket on that and you can wear it with bed-head.

On another note of new treats:
My boyfriend spoiled me for my birthday. Giving me everything and more. I love birthdays, I also love my boyfriend!!! Let me give you a little breakdown of it all. Okay, so basically. Coach has just come out with a new pattern: plaid inspired, reminds-me-of Britain with leather straps, Poppycollection. It's cute and fun and not generic. And because the wristlets are only a six dollar difference from the tiny, red, pleather coin purse, it's now my new accessory. Put on the wrist, cling it to the bag, all good.
My likings for Kat Von D, is increasing. Slight crush? Not in a weird way, obvs. Just because she's on my desktop ... anyway, her new fragrance keeps me smelling fresh. Like Miracle by Lancome, it actually stays on. The scent doesn't dissapear, and evaporate, unlike Happy by Clinique (which does smells so soft and summery, but I think my sweat glands open up and just devours it .. .. .). I also picked up her lip gloss in Strutter, it's red but not too red because on a girl like me, super red lips make me look slightly trashy. Yikes.
Moving on, military jackets are being seen everywhere! I got mine at H&M, for a thrifty 50 bones. I remind myself of Michael Jackson. I think it's a tribute trend. Bebe carries their own version, in a very shimmery silver and sailor inspired motifs, so maybe it's a sailor jacket ... and not a military jacket? One comes in black, but it's also double the price. And if you're feeling like a rock star or something, then Betsey Johnson carries one as well. All black, double breasted, cinching at the back, and it really does feel like you're slipping into a 500$ jacket.
I ended it with a couple pairs of boots, because Vancouver likes to bless us with puddles and umbrellas. STUDS STUDS STUDS. i love them, all over my feet, all over my boots.

PS; didn't forget to mention, but compliments to my bestfriend, Dhanani - I can now send all my trickling thoughts on the www. whenever I please. Gateway laptop, sleek and easy to carry. If you've seen the size of my puny arms, you'll know what I mean. I'm not made to carry anything over five pounds .. seriously. Peace in the middle east, brother.

There is a seed to every origin of life, whether it be life itself, a budding plant, the beginnings of an architectural domain, or an inhabitant feeling that weathers in your veins. There is a potent cause for everything, with every action comes a reaction. How to control that reaction is the difficult part. In some ways of life there are no instructional guides, there are no arrows that point in the right direction, it's just instinct, perhaps its serendipty that leads you to where you are. There is no manditory gate that opens up and sets you in the footprints you are in now. All we have is our gut, our mind, our faith and how we use each tool to our advantage or disadvatange. We are our own. No steering wheel no brakes, just gas. So the next decision you make, don't think once, or twice, give it three times; because some are permanent and some wither away like a dandelion. The outcome? Maybe regret, or the best time of your life. Each weigh like a brick. Afterall, we live to die and die to live.

It seems the distressed denim has not lost its flare. It's big and back in season, from guy's to girl's, you'll see it strut right off the cat walk and onto the streets. Keep to simple wear and tear lines around the back pocket and upper thigh pocket, to an all out patched up look (Levi's, $98). Stealing oversized t's and jackets from your boyfriend's closet has been a hushed secret, but let it all spill out with your own slighty more fitted style. Boyfriend jeans (Levi's 501's) worn loose and rolled up at the ankles as well as blazer tops have become a must have this season.

The black leather jacket has been a staple peice this season, and won't lose it's statement anytime soon. Jazz it up with a lighter tone of brown adorned with gold zippers and buttons (B.B. Blue).

Spring is in the air, and Summer is soon to follow. Bright multi coloured attire is being called to attention. HP3 on Main & 22nd, carries a wide selection of light, airy dresses and floral print, perfect for Summer weather. Pair it together with gold gladiator sandals, Nicole Richie inspired sunglasses and layer up the wrists with bracelets and trinkets (a motif inspired by the Marc Jacobs' 09 Spring collection).

What's your go-to bag? The slouchy tote is sure to match with any outfit this season. It's a tendancy to buy bags in neutral colours (black, gray, brown, white), but your bag should scream 'LOOK AT ME' so consider bold colours like blue, red and purple, you'll be sure to be the center of attention.

Royally Pissed Off.

To add to the anger I had when I left my house, door slammed, an old Russian man decided to make my day and turn into a very, very bad one. I was walking along the side walk, and a car stopped in an intersection to enter the underground parking of City Park; so instead of walking in front of his car, I decided to walk behind, because that is where I thought I was most likely not to get hit. However, the prick behind the wheel thought it would be funny to back up an inch every time I motioned around the vehicle. He did this about twice, and the second time I caught him laughing. I have never sworn to a stranger my whole life, until this day. This radiant fool would fool me no more. As I passed in front of his dirty burgundy SUV, I said some things that were not very nice, yet he didn't seem to care. He smiled and said in his rusty accent 'Oh, c'mon,' like it was some kind of game everybody plays. I continued to walk in pure frustration, ignoring everything around, every brushing shoulder and in particular every car honk. How he still had the nerve to pull up beside me, slow down and ask me if I wanted a ride, I do not know. However, that is when the middle finger came up, and a slight stink eye was shot. If looks could kill ...
